Bali Adventure (ITR) – 9 Days from $535 CAD

Dotted with small, character-filled villages, smouldering volcanoes rising out of lush rich fields, idyllic beaches and colourful reefs, Bali is the perfect island getaway. Enjoy a moment of absolute peace in Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, a Hindu-Buddhist lake temple dedicated to the Goddess of the Waters, feast on delicious Balinese cuisine, explore an underwater Eden in Bali Barat National Park and conquer the slopes of simmering Mt Batur. Fall in love with the warmth of the people, ornate customs and welcoming culture that is synonymous with beautiful Bali.

Itinerary

Day: Description:
1-2 Ubud:
Bali's largest Hindu town is also its artistic and cultural heart. There is plenty of free time to browse the many craft shops, meet monkeys in their forest sanctuary or, for the more adventurous, go white-water rafting. Enjoy a Balinese cultural performance in the evening.
3 Sidemen:
Take to the backstreets of Ubud and beyond by bicycle. Stop and admire some of the intricately carved temples along the way. Afterwards, head to the hills and the peaceful, scenic village of Sidemen, set against the backdrop of Bali's highest peak, Mt Agung. This friendly village is a great place to chill out and meet the locals.
4 Mt Batur:
Learn the art of songket-weaving at a local workshop before enjoying a traditional bungkus (take-away) lunch. Trek into the mountains afterwards for wonderful views of Bali's volcanic landscape and maybe a refreshing dip in the river. Stay in simple lodgings in Kedisan village.
5 Banyupoh:
Rise early and venture out into the cool, eerie darkness to climb Mt Batur. From the summit, take in the spectacular sunrise and perhaps have eggs for breakfast, cooked over the volcano's sulphuric vents. For a sea change, head down to the coast for a day of snorkelling or scuba diving among some of Bali's impressive reefs in the Bali Barat National Park.
6-7 Lovina:
The beachside fishing village of Lovina is a great base for exploring the north coast of Bali. Take the chance to head out on outrigger boats to view dolphins. Spend a day exploring local villages and markets. End the day with a refreshing soak in a hot spring.
8-9 Ubud:
Admire one of Bali's most beautiful temples, Pura Ulun Danu Bratan, situated in the centre of a glassy lake, before travelling back to Ubud. Pick up some last-minute souvenirs or enjoy a final Balinese banquet before bidding the island goodbye.
