Itinerary

Day: Description:
(Tuesday) Depart
En route
Arrive Hong Kong (Thursday). Take the airport express train into town and explore this legendary city, or relax at the new airport and enjoy a massage, internet access, shopping or a meal with China's equivalent of Worcestershire sauce: zhenjiang vinegar. Return to the airport for your late afternoon flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Upon arrival, you are transferred to your hotel.
An early start and a long day, as you travel across the Vietnam /Cambodian frontier by bus to Phnom Penh. Arrive late afternoon, time to explore.
Morning guided tour to visit the Royal Palace and National Museum. You will also take time to uncover the history of Cambodia's recent tragic past with an optional visit to Tuol Sleng - the former Khmer Rouge torture centre. The visit will also include the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek.
This morning you have an early start and catch a local ferry (or bus when the water level is low) to Siem Reap, the gateway to your long-awaited visit to the incredible Angkor Wat. Afternoon free.
A spectacular day of exploration. You rise early for sunrise over Angkor Wat then enjoy a guided tour of the main complex. In the afternoon you visit Angkor Thom, Bayon, South Gate and the Terrace of the Leper King.
A whole free day to explore Angkor Wat or other surrounding sights such as Lake Tonle Sap or the Old Market.
Board the local bus from Siem Reap to Bangkok where the tour ends on arrival. Overnight Bangkok.
-11 There's no shortage of things to do in Bangkok. Sit down to a pad thai at one of the many night markets, enjoy a traditional Thai massage at Wat Pho, or escape the city heat on a cruise down the Chao Phraya River.
-13 An overnight train journey brings you to beautiful Khao Sok National Park, where you stay in the heart of the jungle in rustic bungalows. Enjoy a guided walk and maybe an elephant ride, or trek further afield to a waterfall.
-16 You head to Krabi Province, famous for its unspoiled beaches. Snorkel, swim or take a longtail boat to some of the nearby islands. The surrounding limestone cliffs are sure to tempt any rock climbers.
-18 Continuing on to Malaysia, you'll find Penang a charismatic blend of colonial heritage, night markets and religious temples, and offering a wide range of exotic cuisines.
You head for the cooler climes of the Cameron Highlands, known for its tea plantations and strawberries.
-21 The ultra-modern Petronas Towers may dominate the skyline, but Kuala Lumpur still retains plenty of old-world charm. With a full free day to explore, why not head to nearby Batu Caves and sample some of the local treats on offer at the night market.
With its colonial architecture and strong Malay, Indian and Chinese influences, Melaka is a true melting pot of cultures. Check out the ruins of the 16 C. St. Paul's church, or head to Chinatown for a taste of traditional Nonya cuisine.
Cross into Singapore and indulge in the country's two favourite pastimes of eating and shopping along glitzy Orchard Road or in traditional Chinatown.
Depart from Singapore in the early morning and connect through Hong Kong back to Canada, arrive later that evening.
